The absolute best place to buy handcrafted lamps in Istanbul. From the moment we walked in, it was a wonderful and unique experience. We were welcomed by the two brothers who own the shop. They speak great English and shared with us the process of how the lamps are made by hand in their workshop and in partnership with people in their community. They also offered us tea and sweets and gave us plenty of time and space to walk around and look at the hundreds of lamps in their showroom. No pressure at all, but always very helpful and available for answering questions. Prices are set and visible in their digital system, which makes everything so easy. The lamps themselves are absolutely works of art. They are not only more affordable than anywhere else we found in Istanbul, but the quality and craftsmanship is unmatched. They can also customize the designs and mix and match so you have the design you want. If you are looking for a beautiful lamp, a unique Istanbul souvenir, and honestly just a wonderful Turkish experience, do yourself a favor and visit this shop. Their location is a bit outside of the usual tourist area, but it's so easy to get to by metro or taxi and well worth the quick journey. They also ship internationally.
